Guy Stern

Guy Stern was born in Hildesheim, Germany in 1922, and left to the United States in 1937. Served in U.S. Military Intelligence and took part in the Normandy invasion. Taught at various American universities; guest professor at the universities of Freiburg, Frankfurt, Leipzig, Potsdam, Munich. Retired from Wayne State University in 2003 then became a Director at the Holocaust Memorial Center of Greater Detroit. He is a vice-president of the Kurk-Weill Foundation for Music.
