Based on The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction by Walter Benjamin, we will question the status of Marilyn Monroe’s images and we will study how her suicide changed the value of the star’s image, an exhibition value to cult value, as evidenced Marilyn Diptych by Andy Warhol.
