The top of the Pâtures Member (upper member of the Beaulieu Formation), and a large part of the Fiennes Member (lower member of the Ferques Formation), both Mid Frasnian and belonging to the middle asymmetricus conodont Zone (= punctate Zone) were momentarily observed, during the digging of a trench for the installation of new equipments on the site of the Stinkal Quarries, in Ferques (Pas-de-Calais). A level, rich in decalcified brachiopods, has been sampled near the top of the Pâtures Member, which is generally considered without fossils; it has yielded, in order of abundance, the species Cyrtospirifer syringothyriformis, Rigauxia acutosina, Comiotoechia barroisi and Spinatrypa ? sp. which are briefly discussed. The interest of the study of such temporary outcrops is emphasized.

The development of new digital technologies renews the customs and practices to the benefit of geotourism. Four partners, already certified European Geopark or in application for the label are associated in the HINT project which aims to develop these practices and to make them known to the broadest public. The laboratory EDYTEM (University of Savoie – France) is involved in monitoring the project as an outside expert. The presentation of the partners, and of the prototype on which each of them is working, illustrates the various aspects of the mediation of geoheritag, either in situ, accompanying the tourist in his discovery by using nomadic digital solutions, or ex situ in order to prepare, complete or replace a field trip through interfaces using new interactive technologies. An overview of practices and customs in the areas of dynamic cartography, the digital imaging and 3D models, but also some simple tools, accessible to novices, are presented. They were tested as part of an intensive course which gathered some thirty participants from twelve nationalities during the "International Symposium on Management geosite". Beyond the difficulties of implementing these new practices and reluctance that may emerge, this paper shows how new digital technologies can be useful for the interpretation of the geoheritage.

On the 8th of Feb. 2017, a meeting that was triggered by Société Géologique du Nord was held at the Centre Historique Minier. Various scientific and cultural heritages issued from the producing industrial phase of the coal basin have been presented and questionned to put in perspective similar stakes for that territory during the future.
