      <link>https://www.peren-revues.fr/bien-dire-et-bien-aprandre/540</link>
From the monkey motif present in all the versions of the cycle of Othovian, associated with the character of Florent, this contribution proposes to wonder about the narrative and symbolic role of an animal whose connotations are often negative (association with the devil). The course takes into account the Roman d’Othovien, the song of gesture Florent and Octavien, the setting in prose and the print (Florent and Lyon), as well as the images illustrating the texts. We will show how the monkey can become a sign of the initiatory journey of the young Florent, who through trials and despite his education shows his true nature, that of a young noble. </description>
