      <link>https://www.peren-revues.fr/cahiersmargueriteduras/290</link>
Marguerite Duras's La Douleur bears witness to a nuanced experience of not-knowing at the heart of her writing, in the poignant intensity of the narrator's wait for Robert L. and in the paratext added at the time of publication, in 1985. The preface sets the scene for the author's non-knowledge of the text, even before the reader is immersed in the non-knowledge produced by the discrepancies between the narrator's lived reality and the information, official as well as clandestine, that surround her. The disparity between the narrator's experience of not-knowing and the dominant discourses relayed by the victorious Right, among others, highlights the difficulty of thinking about politics in the raw pain left after the end of the war. The narrative's philosophical perspective, based on an assertive feminine posture, is eminently political. </description>
