      <link>https://www.peren-revues.fr/cahiersmargueriteduras/202</link>
Duras has a long-standing passion for cinema. When she talks about cinema, with rare exceptions, she only discusses Western cinema, mostly French, Italian and Anglo-Saxon. The positions she takes on Anglo-Saxon cinema are somewhat different from the rest, in that the examples she mentions are combined with a global discourse that attempts to define what we would now call mainstream cinema. The criticisms vary over the course of her career, depending on factual events or sudden disaffection, but some constants can be identified, revealing a singular imagination that explores the relationship between film industry and aesthetic purpose of filmmaking. Duras as a writer and filmmaker constantly shifts the aesthetic judgement to the level of ideological judgement, attacking for instance the reception of Anglo-Saxon cinema. By comparing the extreme diversity of her statements, this article aims to understand what Anglo-Saxon cinema means, in the Durassian imagination. </description>
