      <link>https://www.peren-revues.fr/demeter/2231</link>
Alice Barraud’s play looks at the consequences of trauma on the artist's circus practice, and the difficulties of rebuilding with a disabled body, approached in a poetic and metaphorical way. Through a dramaturgical and aesthetic approach, the aim is to see how the artist has had to negotiate and come to terms with this « new » body, and how M.E.M.M allows us to reflect on the injury by turning it into a dramaturgical element. We will be looking at the form that this self-writing takes, in order to question the theatre's ability to express trauma, and to see how the wound leads to the questioning and adaptation of the dramatic structure of the work. This dramaturgy of fragility takes the form of a narrative, a kind of oneself-confession, evolving as a duo. It combines artistic practice, intimate narrative and connivance with the audience. The stories of her accident and her reconstruction invoke the collective memory, but the trauma is most often evoked in poetic and humorous rather than documentary terms. It will also be a question of seeing how the appropriation of her wounds has led Alice Barraud to reinvent her artistic practice, and how these new limits have enabled her to develop different techniques that can be surpassed. This raises the question of resilience, the artist's ability to bounce back, to free herself from the effects of shock and injury, to project herself into the future. Alice Barraud's work, which is both difficult and creative, is fundamentally about the cathartic power of theatre in its ability to bear witness and rediscover a sense of the human. Alice Barraud brings to the stage creative potential, fuelled by a surge of vitality, bringing together the tragic, the poetic and the comic, thus lightening the weight of the trauma in a process of protection and distancing. </description>
