    <title>Une tradition de l’actrice néoréaliste ? </title>
    <link>https://www.peren-revues.fr/demeter/2609</link>
My intention in this article is to try to understand, behind the working gestures and chosen methodologies in The Wonders, what conceptions of neorealist performance are held by people working in Italian cinema today, especially by Chiara Polizzi (casting director) and Tatiana Lepore (acting coach), whether this neorealist heritage is conscious or not. The myth of the unprecedented performance, created by the large volume of speeches around Rossellini’s working methods and by Magnani and Bergman’s performances themselves, inspired the way people worked with actors in Italian auteur.ice cinema right up to The Wonders. Aesthetically speaking, Alexandra Lundu’s performance is in line with certain exemplary features of neorealism, by demonstrating the primacy of the body in the representation of the character and a conception of performance on the verge of documentary. It also raises the stakes of social embodiment. The casting of Gelsomina is imbued with representations of this cinematographic movement and the figure of Rossellini, as the director’s statements about the nonprofessional actor have conceptualized an approach in which casting is essential. Lundu’s coaching, &quot;between non-actorality and professionalism&quot;, stems from the novelty of the performance conveyed by “the law of amalgam”. </description>
