This article focuses on the phenomenon of the ekphrasis as a new literary genre in the late Greek prose, many centuries after Homer and the first ekphrasis of Achilles’ shield. For instance, Philostratus proposes an entire book consisting only in pictorial descriptions. This is the first one of its kind. The first romance novels, written in the same period, are also filled with descriptions of pictures that are fully integrated into the narrative. In this work, we question the rewriting of a myth through the description made by the writers: how the described picture synthesizes a narrative tale while the author uses this picture in the text of another kind? One can notice that the objects described in mythes allow us to understand better this transfer from narrative tale to synthetic tale: this is the passage from tale to picture that allows the author to take the reverse way.

The aim of this article is to provide a first typology of structural elements of storytelling that can be used for narrative interactivy; we define it as the possibilities for the user of a interactive storytelling to influence the story developments. Furthermore, we will also discuss the links between narrative interactivity and other types of interactions. Our approach is a problematic of involvment (that we oppose to the concept of participation), which allows us to stress the continuity between the reception (too often thought of as passive) and interaction itself. The typology is built on the basis of Françoise Revaz's definition of narrativity degrees. The article ends with a first application through a descriptive analysis of three video games and a web documentary.
