      <link>https://www.peren-revues.fr/mosaique/1795</link>
If many philosophers have thought that “things tell a story”, others by no means less numerous have endeavored to remove from philosophy any narrative, relegated to the so-called irrationality of myth. William James, but also Joseph L. Mankiewicz with The Barefoot Contessa (1954), distinguish themselves by experimenting another way: the universe tells a tale, but it is a “tangled tale”. The philosopher Alexander Bain having first defined “belief” as the inclination to act on the strength of an idea, there is no idea (or concept) which does not present itself as a scenario powerfully calling us to be its actors. The storyteller is then nothing less than the practitioner whose art could be one upon which our future depends. </description>
