      <title>Le trouble ou l’étonnement philosophique à l’ère postcoloniale. Lire l’Orient chez Hegel</title>
      <link>https://www.peren-revues.fr/mosaique/2877</link>
This article offers a reading of the Orient in Hegel through the conceptualization of a new interpretative paradigm that I identify as “trouble”. Drawing on its contemporary philosophical uses – primarily in Judith Butler – I aim to demonstrate the fecundity of the notion of trouble for the history of philosophy. To this end, I will engage with Hegel’s philosophy on three levels: first, as a paradigmatic case of how the Oriental Renaissance in nineteenth-century European scholarship constituted a factor of trouble for his thought; second, as the site of an original speculative formulation of trouble; and third, as an object of application for trouble understood as a renewed method of reading the classical philosophical canon. As both a theoretical and affective experience, methodological trouble is grounded in a critical bodily reflexivity, opening the way to a new reading of modern texts. </description>
