      <title>Des instruments pour la République</title>
      <link>https://www.peren-revues.fr/mosaique/385</link>
This article intends to reconstruct the itineraries of the physical instruments seized from the enemies of the Republic from the summer of 1793. By following these objects, from their inventory to their redistribution in 1795, it is possible to understand their role in the republican project. The instruments were first inventoried before being placed in storage because they were considered indispensable to the establishment of an encyclopedic and experimental scientific teaching that the deterioration of the military situation did not allow to be realized. The Maison d'Aiguillon, a private residence transformed into a national warehouse of physics, became an instrumental enclave that participated in the functionalization of the professions of conservation of scientific patrimony. Finally, the Thermidorian Republic redistributed the instruments to the benefit of the École Polytechnique, the most prestigious institution, which was then able to set up an encyclopedic teaching program. </description>
