In the short story The Burrow, Kafka gives us one of the most precise descriptions of his conception of literature and encrypts at the same time a radical confrontation with the most important historical event of his time. As synthesis of a poetology of the absolute metaphor and of a radical confrontation with the end of the story represented by the Great War, this text is an example of the possibilities of a destituent conception of literature.
