Pinocchio, ovvero l’ostinazione dell’incompiutezza

The essay interprets The Adventures of Pinocchio as a work of morphological instability. To this end, while acknowledging the importance of the pedagogical intention from which Collodi could move, the work presents evidence relating to the stylistic level (§ 1), the narrative organization (§ 2) and the figural construction of the conclusive sequence (§ 3). The analysis of these three levels confirms that the metamorphism so characteristic of the Collodian protagonist cannot be reduced to a teleological determinism.
