Drawing on Kierkegaard’s concept of anxiety as the threshold of freedom and subjectivation, the article explores how the African experience of political vertigo – embodied by marginalised youth, critical intellectuals and dissenting artists – can be the ground for ethical engagement and political truth. Moving from ontology to ethics, and from systemic analysis to lived subjectivity, this paper redefines political truth as a practice of authenticity, choice and responsibility without guarantees.
