In his essay, Benjamin focuses on Ottilie, whose beauty, in Goethe’s novel, represents an innovation in front of epic and mythological narration. Comparing Ottilie “apparent beauty” to that of Helen in Faust, an incredible closeness between Goethe and Euripides is revealed, insofar as apparent beauty is a sort of mythological fundamental of all wars. dim., 26 janv. 2025 20:24:21 +0100 dim., 26 janv. 2025 20:24:21 +0100 https://www.peren-revues.fr/revue-k/1478
