Être père sans l’être : Charlot dans Le Kid

The Tramp, through his usual grace and clumsiness, unintentionally takes on the role of father, that someone else chose to abandon. He therefore gives us to see a way to be a father after, in Lacan’s words, “the evaporation of the father”, by tinkering with rather than overhanging the situation, by floating rather than slowing people and things, as well as by reinventing himself rather than sticking to an ideal. He also conveys to today’s spectators the image of their own malaise while comforting them.

Filosofia della miseria

Addressing in particular the first three chapters, the contribution undertakes to reveal how the text, Le Avventure di Pinocchio, represents an unsuspected revolt against kings, sovereigns and more generally the figure of the father. It is done through the use of irony and more generally by distancing itself from the logic of identity.
