Les matériaux archéologiques : applications et enjeux. L’exemple des « bronzes » durant la protohistoire européenne

Abstracts
L’objectif est d’exposer l’histoire technique de certains objets archéologiques. Cela est indissociable de l’histoire sociale, car la production d’objets au sein d’une société suppose une organisation de celle‐ci et la mise en place d’un réseau économique. Identifier les matériaux utilisés par nos sociétés anciennes est l’une des tâches de l’archéologue. Du tesson en argile cuite, aux pollens, en passant par les vestiges métalliques et traces minérales, l’archéologue doit tout étudier et interpréter ces matériaux afin de découvrir leur histoire. Il s’agit d’appréhender l’histoire des sociétés anciennes, non pas à partir de textes, mais à partir des vestiges matériels eux‐mêmes.
The objective is to expose the technical history of archaeological artefacts. Closely related to social history, because the production of artefacts supposes an organization and installation of an economic network. Identify materials employed by our ancient societies, is one of the tasks of the archaeologist. Terracotta shard, pollens, via the metal and mineral reminds, the specialists must study and interpret them in order to discover their history. It is a question of grasp the history of the ancient societies, not starting from texts, but from the material reminds themselves.
Ziel des Artikels ist es, die technische Geschichte einiger archäologischen Gegenstände aufzuzeigen. Dies ist nicht zu trennen von der Sozialgeschichte, da die Herstellung von Gegenständen in einer Gesellschaft deren Organisation und die Entstehung eines ökonomischen Netzwerkes voraussetzt. Eine der Aufgaben des Archäologen besteht darin, die in unseren früheren Gesellschaften benutzten Materialien zu identifizieren. Ob es sich um Tonscherben, Pollen, metallische Überreste oder mineralische Spuren handelt – der Archäologe muss sie studieren und interpretieren, um deren Geschichte zu entdecken. Es geht also darum, die Geschichte der früheren Gesellschaften nicht anhand von Texten, sondern anhand der materiellen Überreste selber zu verstehen.
