Le formaldéhyde en milieu professionnel

The valuation of a gaseous evacuation system was conducted in two professional premises by measuring the amounts of aldehydes remaining in air. Our study was performed:
- inside sterilization room where linen and bedding were disinfected with a formaldehyde solution in a sterilizer heated at 60°C.
- in air surrounding the workplace where metallic packagings coated with an acrylic varnish where heated up to 350°C. (A carbonyl compounds emission had been showed up, in laboratory during the thermolysis of the acrylic varnish). Aldehydes were determined using a high performance liquid chromatographic method, after air sampling through silica cartridges at a flow rate of 1 ml.min^-1. The findings showed that, in the sterilization room, the formaldehyde amount was not compatible with worker attendance during the sterilization and two hours after. On the contrary, around the manufacture even, the aldehyde amounts were Iow, so the evacuation systems were not implicated. But the problems of other gases effects were brought.
